At the bridge of the failed painter, I stoop and check the sagging timbers before placing one foot, then the other, on this sorry decrepitude. It cracks and pops like a first fleet ship, but the sounds are not ominous; more the rattled wheezing of an invalid friend. I proceed with care, sucking the thumb pricked on its splintery balustrade. Ahead, lies the gate and welltrod path and, branching like spider veins, the merest hints of tracks―overgrown, leading to a wilderness filled with possibilities. I stand and consider. Buttoning my duffel coat—a veteran of the moth wars, I step off the path, and into the weeds.

Much has changed here at chez failed painter however after coming this close to deleting my blog forever, I've decided to pare try and cut some of the bloat.
Our exhibition was hung and dusted yesterday and is open to the public this coming Monday. The official opening is on Thursday February 4th and everyone is welcome.
A big thankyou to the hanging team and Dawn Oelrich...curator extraordinaire.

Cheer up, everybody cares and nobody cares - that's what a blog is.
At least that's easier than this whole cosmological paradigm of Climate change, Original sin, Broken pottery, Dinosaurs, Buckyballs, Thongs, Potato salad, Ipads, Incoherent design, Artists masquerading as people who are really aliens monitoring our way of life on earth because life on the reptile planet is so cold and boring, Bishop Spong, Dean Martin, Little stones that float on water, and issues pertaining to the scarlet thread of redemption.
Art has a certain je ne sais quoi just like blogging.
Hey, Loretta it's great to have you back.
I am loving what little I see here and thinking that they are super cool!
Don't even think about pushing the delete button woman! Even if it is just a quick post now and then to keep us up to date we can live with it...but holy cow if you disappeared we would be left wondering about what the heck you and those men of yours are up to!
good luck on the opening I am sure it will be wonderful!
I wish I could come to your reception but since I can't I hope to hear about it. All the best with the show.
I understand what you mean about just deleting the blog (but I hope you don't, even like colette says you just post now and again it great). I have gotten discouraged several times and wanted to quit the blog but my mum in the UK reads it, my kids read it and they enjoy it.
all the best
Corrine who dithers on who knows where and what.
I just left a comment but it said "service unavailable" so I'm not sure if you got it...I'll try again quickly. I said I wish that I lived where you do so I could see your show...and I'm glad I decided to visit blogs today (finally) so I could put in my two cents that you not delete this blog. I might not come by often, but I enjoy it very much when I do.
Welcome back. I agree, don't delete, I enjoy your meanderings. Good luck with your show.
So glad you're still here!
